Regionalisation has since become an important item on the agendas of many Asian countries and this has given rise to the concept of economic co-operation in the region. Tremendous opportunities are waiting to be explored and the region has never appeared more attractive to the foreign as well as regional investors. Of late, one of the most popular emerging investment spots is the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS). Many countries are looking to the subregion for investment opportunities especially in tourism. Tourism in the GMS may be the answer to investors for a more prosperous and optimistic 21st century.
