總結:Green house drying method is one of the simple drying methods using solar heat. This method usually used in the day time. In order to use it when there is no sunlight, this research was carried out in the night time by using 150 watt lamps as the source of heat. The purpose of this research was to determine the drying rate constant (kM), corn temperature increment rate constant (kT), the value of convective heat transfer coefficient (h), and particle density decrement rate constant (kγ) from some drying variation.In this research, 10 cobs of corn were dried using 4 kinds of drying method : Day-time green house drying(RK.S), direct sun drying (LJ), day-night time green house drying (RK.SM), night time green house drying (RK.M). These drying was done until water content was about 17-20 %, or safe to be shelled. In the process of drying, datas were taken every 30 minutes, they were temperature, RH and grain water content. The value of convective heat transfer was analyzed using lump capacitant method, the water content was analyzed to determine drying rate constant, particle density decrement rate constant (kγ) and value of convective heat transfer coefficient (h) by using page equation method.The result showed that value of convective heat transfer coefficient (h) for RK.S drying is 0,427 W/m2oC, for LJ drying is 0,244 W/m2 oC, for RK.SM drying is 0,254 W/m2 oC, and for RK.M drying is 0,165 W/m2 oC. Drying rate constant (kM) for RK.S drying is 3,00 hour-1, for LJ drying is 2,36 hour-1, for RK.SM drying is 2,08 hour-1, and for RK.M drying is 1,78 hour-1. Particle density decrement rate constant (kγ) for RK.S drying is 0,124 hour-1, for LJ drying is 0,106 hour-1, for RK.SM drying is 0,092 hour-1, and for RK.M drying is 0,056 hour-1. Corn temperature increment rate constant (kT) for RK.S drying is 0,287 hour-1, for LJ drying is 0,261 hour-1, for RK.SM drying is 0,223 hour-1 and for RK.M drying is 0,215 hour-1. The conclusion from this research is the Day-time Green house drying has higher value of h,kM,kγ and kT than the other methods. Keyword : corn cob, drying, green house, heat transfer, mass transfer
