總結:Levels of curcumin in turmeric rhizome needs to be analyzed, to control the quality of ginger. The method of analysis using chromatographic curcumin generally tend to take a long time and requires skilled personnel to perform the analysis. The purpose of this research is to gain a practical and efficient method for the analysis of curcumin in ethanolic extract of ginger. Samples of approximately 50 mg of a number of carefully made into powder and macerated with 70% ethanol. Extracts were analyzed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR) on wave number 4000-650 cm-1, while curcumin content was quantified by the method of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) as the reference standard method. Analysis was performed on wave number region 2000 - 950 cm-1. Calibration model Partial Least Square (PLS) in the form y = 0.979 x + 0.000005 showed good correlation to describe the concentration of curcumin predictable FTIR spectrophotometer (y) the actual concentration of curcumin were analyzed by HPLC (x), with a coefficient of determination (R2 ) value of 0.995 and Root Mean Square Error of Calibration (RMSEC) of 0.008%. R2 value close to 1 indicates that the FTIR spectrophotometer combined with multivariate calibration (PLS) as curcumin is capable of analyzing quantitative HPLC method.
