8th Metro Manila popular music festival
During SY 1984-1985, Alvina Sy, a junior in the College of Liberal Arts, won the Grand Prize in the Professional Division of the 8th Metro Manila Popular Music Festival. She composed the award-winning song, Pag-asa sa Mundo. This was her second time to win a major prize in the Metro Pop Fest.
