Description
Summary:This aims of the research is to examine the performance of pressurised vessel. It is used as biogas holder. Biogas in its is fuel for genzet. Pressurised vessel is designed with ASME standard and it have internal pressure of 12 bar. Besides considering outlet pressure of biogas to genzet is 0.025 0.1 bar with pressure adjusting of regulator. Results of design are dimension of pressurised vessel including shell diameter of 310 mm, length of 1100 mm, and shell thick of 6 mm. Head of pressurised vessel vessel uses ellipsoidal shape. Test of perfomance with compressing air and biogas use reciprocating compressor into pressurised vessel. The specification of reciprocating compressor has 2 cylinders, bore of 46.7 mm, single acting with cooling of air. The prime mover is spark ignition engine with power of 3.5 HP. From this research, compressor is used to compress of air and gas until absolute pressure of 6 kg/cm2. Compression is analyzed with process of adiabatic, polytropic, and isothermal. The compression testing of air is got volumetric eficiency of 82 %. on 709.9 rpm. Air flow from compressor is less when raising of pressure on pressurised vessel and flowing the highest of 0.18 m3/minutes at pressure of 1kg/cm2. At process of polytropic power is less than process of adiabatic. From testing is got polytropic power of 0.36 kW and adiabatic power of 0.41 kW. If it is compared with isothermal approach it gets the most power of 0.328 kW. The testing uses biogas, compression of pressurised vessel to the absolute pressure of 6 kg/cm2 is got compression characteristic not different with using air.
