The preliminary screening of soil microorganism producing antibiotics found in soil sample at the Bung Hatta Forest Area have been conducted. The soil samples suspension (1:100) were inoculated to sabouraud dextrose agar medium. Eventually two colonies of microorganism which produce the substance that inhibit the other microorganism growth in their surroundin, appeared colonies were identified as Streptomyces sp and Penicillium sp. Their antibiotics activity test showed that the Streptomyces sp culture inhibit the growth of Aspergillus niger but not Bacillus substilis and Enterobacter sp. Furthermore, the Penicilium sp culture inhibit the growth of Bacillus substilis and Enterobacter sp but not Aspergillus niger.

ABSTRAK
Telah dilalarkan penelitian pendahuluan penapisan mikroorganisme tanah yang menghasilkan senyawa antibiotika dari sampel tanah di kawasan Hutart Raya Bung Hatter Padang. Dan suspensi sampel tanah (1 : 100) yang ditanam pada media sabouraud dextrose agar berhasil diisolasi dua koloni mikroorganisme penghasil antibiotika yang menghambat pertumbuhan mikroorganisme lain disekelilingnya. Setelah diidentifikasi ternyata koloni tersebut adalah Streptomyces sp dan Penicillium sp. Hasil uji aktivitas biakan Sbreptomyces sp pada beberapa mikroba indikator, ternyata dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Aspergillus Edger tetapi tidak terhadap Bacillus substilis dan Enterobacter sp. Sedangkan biakan Penicillium sp dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Bacillus substilis dan Enterobacter sp, tetapi tidak pada Aspergillus niger.
