Description
Summary:The selection of rainfall station number and location is intended to simplify computation based on rainfall data with considerable accuracy. This selection is based on the strong correlation between rainfall and its runoff, which will be used for rainfall-runoff model. This correlation between rainfall runoff is analysed by the regression method to get the coefficient of correlation (r) and coefficient of determination (r2). The selected stasions have high r2 values and well spaced distribution. The number of selected rainfall stasions still meet the WMO criterion. Then the correlation between the runoff and rainfall in two stasions is calculated simultaneously. Logically the r2 value will increase because the runoff is affected by more than 2 stasions. Then the number of stasions will be added gradually. It is expected that at certain number of station, the r2 value will increase a little or not at all. Theis number of station is then selected. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the number of rainfall stations in Jurug, Kajangan, Ketonggo and Bojonegoro can be chosen at a certain determined number that do not include all the available data. However, because of the limited number of available stations at the area between Bojonegoro and Babat, all the proper and avaiable stations are used for analysis. The result of this study indicate that r2 increases with the number of the rainfall stations. But at a certain level, the value of r2 is constant or changing a little, at an uncertain fluctuation. It is then decided that the number of rainfall stations for Jurug, Kajangan, Ketonggo, Bojonegoro and Babat are 28, 43, 24, 89 and 99 respectively, to active simplicity and reasonable accuracy.
