Background: The target of Department of Health of Indonesia in exclusive breastfeeding is 80% through the improvement nutrition program, but according to the data, Yogyakarta has a low number of exclusive breastfeeding participation. One of the causes of a failure exclusive breastfeeing is unfacilitated mother in doing Early Breastfeeding Initiation. The right process of Early Breastfeeding Initiation can hopefully increase the number of exclusive breastfeeding participant and can reduce the number of baby mortality in Indonesia according to Millenium Development Goals (MDGs). Objective: to review the Implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation at Local Gonvernment Clinic in Yogyakarta Methods : This research is a qualitative study with a case study approach. The data would be analyzed with content analysis technique, and presented descriptively that contain the result of indepth interview. The data collected from indepth interview with the participant, observations, and the document in local government clinic. Result: Implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation at Local Government Clinic in Yogyakarta had not reached the optimum result yet according to the standards. The regulation of implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation had not yet provided. The Local Government Clinic had a quite complete facilities to support the implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation. Lack of promotion media to promote the importance of Implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation. Conclusion: The implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation at Local Government Clinic in Yogyakarta remained maintained but not yet appropriate with the standards.
