Summary: | Demodecosis in dogs is a skin disease caused by infestation of Demodex canis mites in the skin or the lining of the hair follicle. The implementation of Field Work Practice performed at the Laboratorium Klinik Hewan Jogja, is done with the goal of adding insight and knowledge about veterinary paramedic skills in observation of demodecosis cases in dogs. The arrangement of this paper is based on data retrieval towards dogs with positive Demodex sp. in the period January � April 2014 and the observations given by the Laboratorium Klinik Hewan Jogja. The prevalence of Demodecosis cases in dogs in January - April 2014 period was 1.7%. This result shows the potential cases of demodecosis in Sleman Yogyakarta. The clinical symptoms and the parasites in skin scrapings appearance become the basic of diagnoses for vet (veterinarian). |
