Summary: | In Bayat area, especially East Jiwo Hills, Central Java Province, there are several
object of carbonate rock that never been determined their age of rock strata, such
as Gunung Lanang and Gunung Temas. So this location selected to do this study.
This study will be produce the identification of nannofossils, then the zonation of
biostratigraphy from Gunung Lanang and Gunung Temas traverse, and an age
correlation between this location and the other location that have the same rock
formation. Data from this study can be used to discuss about digenetic level of
nannofosil and Paleoclimate.
The Method that used to produce Biostratigraphy are using interval zone method.
The method concentrate to find the first or last occurrence of the index fossils.
The field data can be used to make geological map that shown ten rock unit, there
are Unit of diorite, Unit of sandstone, Unit of alternating packstone with marl,
Unit of alternating marl with wackestone, Unit of packstone, Unit of alternating
wackestone with marl, Intrusion of diabas, Unit of packstone intercalated with
marl, Unit of clayey sand and Unit of sandy clay. The Calcaerous Nannofossil
Biostratigraphy at Gunung Lanang traverse has four zone, there are NN 7 zone
(Discoaster exilis Zone), NN8 zone (Catinaster coalitus Zone), NN9 zone
(Discoaster hamatus Zone), and NN10 zone (Discoaster calcaris Zone). At
Gunung Temas traverse has two zone there are NN10 Zone (Discoaster calcaris
Zone) and NN11 Zone (Discoaster quenqueramus Zone). The stratigraphic
measurement show that the rock formation is similar with Oyo Formation, so the
correlation will be using biostratigraphic data at Oyo Formation. Biostratigraphy
of this study is relatively equal with the result of biostratigraphy that located at
Southern Mountain area which is Ngalang river traverse.
The data from this study shown that the digenetic level of Gunung Temas area is
higher than Gunung Lanang area. Paleoclimate of this location has fluctuating

condition which has 4 time increasing temperature and 4 time decreasing
temperature, but overall this study location have cooling trend. |
