總結: | Background: Malaria is a public health problem in Indonesia, especially in areas where
malaria is endemic, including Sahapi Village, Kelumpang Hilir Subdistrict, Kotabaru
Regency, Kalimantan Selatan Province. The incidence of malaria fluctuate and often
extraordinary occurrence. AMI rate reached 404.71 and API 263.38. Malaria
eradication program has often done either through the discovery of patient, treatment,
counseling, distributing posters and leaflets media. Eradication program is not
supported by the community in terms of endemic malaria prevention behavior, giving
rise to the potential of contracting malaria.
Objective: To find out the perception of malaria-endemic areas for malaria prevention,
the public perception of vulnerability and severity of malaria, the perceptions of barriers
and benefits of malaria prevention behavior, and the self efficacy towards malaria
prevention behaviors.
Method: This research method using a case study with a qualitative approach. Sampling
was done by purposive sampling. Data collection by in-depth interviews, focus groups,
observation and document study. The data were analyzed qualitatively.
Results: The community in Village of Sahapi mostly have low education levels so that
the knowledge of malaria is low. Malaria is a deadly disease and a threat to community.
Conclusion: Based on the results and discussion, and refers to the purpose of the study
then it could be concluded that the public's perception of malaria prevention behaviors
that society views as important. Not all preventive behavior implemented by the
community. This is because in addition to low educational role the community health
workers and volunteers had not give the information to the community intensively. |
