Early seizure (ES) is a complication in acute stroke phase that it can affect the patient�s outcome. The International League Against Epilepsy Guidelines (1993) defines ES onset as a seizure that it occurs within 7 days of stroke onset and late seizures (LS) is a seizure that it occurs after this time period. The Researchpredictors ofESobtained with differentresults.The aims of this study to determine the decreasing of consciousness as an predictor the occurrence of early seizures in acute stroke phase. This study used a cohort prospective design. Sampling has done with a concecutive after it adapted to inclusion or exclusion criteria. Each subject was asked to sign informed consent. The study was conducted on admission to Dr. Sardjito general hospital andforpatientstreatedina strokeunitorneurologicalward. The results of bivariate analysis followed by multivariate analysis with logistic regression.We obtained88 sampleof acutestrokepatientswith7 patients (8%) hasESevents.Five of patients(41,7%) withEShas decreasedof consciousnessand statisticallynot significant effect onthe occurrence ofESif it compared topatients withoutimpairment of consciousness(RR=3,97
