Summary:The objectives of this research were: 1) To study and compare work-life balance, 2) To examine and compare the level of happiness at work, and 3) to study in-depth on job burnout of the first jobbers at the Office of National Economics and Social Development Council (NESDC). This study was a Mixed-Method Research. The quantitative research was collected through survey questionnaires from a sample of 81 people. The statistics used in this research were descriptive statistics by frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and inferential statistics by T-test and One-Way ANOVA. The qualitative research was based on interviewing 12 key informants, followed by content analysis. Results showed that first jobbers at the NESDC have an overall level of work-life balance at a high level. While the wisdom aspect was found to be on the average, the money aspect was found to have the lowest average. Moreover, different divisions factor also affected the level of work-life balance. For the level of happiness at work, overall, it was at a high level. In terms of pleasure, the average was the highest, arousal had the lowest average, and factors of different divisions and years of work affected the level of happiness at work. Factors of job burnout among the first jobbers were related to supervisor or executive, colleagues, work, compensation and welfare, and organizational culture factors. When job burnout happens, first jobbers choose to talk with colleagues, relax by shifting to other activities, or remove themselves from work. In conclusion, the results of this research can be used as policy recommendations for the NESDC to help the first jobbers maintain work-life balance and better the level of happiness at work. Informants’ suggested examples were modifying the work system to be more flexible, reducing the work process, supporting work facilities, and providing activities to create good relationships between executives and personnel.
