From the study it is found that the cause of political conflict and violence in May, 1992 is that attempt to establish monocratic system among the powerful offlicer and the some political parties. The coup d’etat on February, 23 1991 leads to the deterioration of economic, social and political conditions. The National Peace Keeping Council tries to maintain their power. After national election on March, 22 1992, there is the crisis of political leader and General Suchinda Kraprayoon occupies the position of prime minister despite people’ s Resistance. The middle-class people have the important role in fighting. The important leaders who are on fasting protest are Flight LT. Chalard Worachat and Major General Chamlong Srimeong. These leaders could attract the mass to the political demands. General Suchinda Kraprayoon orders the army to crush the people violently and this many people died and lost. General Suchinda Kraprayoon retires himself from the position of prime minister. This event helps promote political participation and awareness among people. การศึกษาเรื่องความขัดแย้งและความรุนแรงทางการเมือง ศึกษาเฉพาะกรณี เหตุการณ์ทางการเมืองในเดือน พฤษภาคม 2535 เป็นการศึกษาวิจัยแบบเอกสาร (documentary research) มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการศึกษา เพื่อให้ทราบถึงความเป็นมาสถานการณ์ที่นำไปสู่ความรุนแรง ความขัดแย้งทางเมือง ในเหตุการณ์เดือน พฤษภาคม 2535 นอกจากนั้นยังศึกษาเพื่อให้ทราบถึงความล้มเหลวในการปกครองภายใต้รัฐบาล พลเอก สุจินดา คราประยูร นายกรัฐมนตรีคนที่ 19 ของประเทศไทย จากการศึกษาครั้งนี้พบว่า สาเหตุความขัดแย้งและความรุนแรงทางการเมืองในเหตุการณ์ทางการเมืองในเดือน พฤษภาคม 2535 นั้นมาจากความพยายามในการสถาปนาระบบเผด็จการระหว่างนายทหารผู้มีอำนาจกับพรรคการเมืองที่เกี่ยวข้อง การทำรัฐประหารในวันที่ 23 กุมภาพันธ์ 2535 ได้นำไปสู่ความตกต่ำทั้งสภาพการณ์ทางเศรษฐกิจ สังคมและการเมืองและจากการที่ คณะรักษาความสงบเรียบร้อยแห่งชาติ พยายามทำทุกวิถีทางเพื่อสืบทอดอำนาจของกลุ่ม โดยภายหลังการเลือกตั้งเมื่อวันที่ 22 มีนาคม 2535 ได้เกิดเหตุการณ์วิกฤตการณ์ผู้นำทางการเมืองและพลเอก สุจินดา คราประยูร ได้รับตำแหน่งนายกรัฐมนตรีท่ามกลางการคัดค้านจากประชาชน โดยเฉพาะชนชั้นกลางได้เข้ามามีบทบาทอย่างมากในการต่อสู้เรียกร้องโดยบทบาทผู้นำที่สำคัญในการต่อสู้คือการอดอาหารประท้วงของ เรืออากาศตรี ฉลาด วรฉัตร และการประท้วงของพลตรี จำลอง ศรีเมือง ที่สามารถดึงพลังมวลชนเข้าต่อผู้เรียกร้องทางการเมือง พลเอก สุจินดา คราประยูร ได้สั่งทหารปราบปรามประชาชนอย่างรุนแรง ทำให้ประชาชนได้รับบาดเจ็บและมีผู้เสียชีวิตและสูญหาย เป็นจำนวนมาก พลเอก สุจินดา คราประยูร ไม่สามารถที่จะดำรงสถานภาพการเป็นนายกรัฐมนตรีต่อไปได้ จึงได้ลาออกจากการเป็นนายกรัฐมนตรี โดยเหตุการณ์ครั้งนี้มีส่วนเสริมสร้างการตื่นตัวทางการเมืองในระบอบประชาธิปไตยในหมู่ประชาชน. ไทย ความขัดแย้งทางการเมือง ความรุนแรงทางการเมือง -- ไทย ไทย -- การเมืองและการปกครอง -- 2535 Political violence -- Thailand Thailand -- Politics and government -- 1992 วิทยา สุจริตธนารักษ์ https://digiverse.chula.ac.th/digital/file_upload/biblio/cover/64639.jpg |
