الملخص: | Sea shipping is a major mode of international freight transportation. The effective ship management is an important part of shipping, business because of its high capital investment and high market competition. The objective of this research is to develop a mathematical model and a solution approach for routing and scheduling of bulk cargo ship under the conditions of the real world operation, including port congestion. The concept of problem solving is to integrate both ship routing and ship scheduling to be a single planning process. Moreover, this research concerned about port congestion problem which leads operation phase to be inconsistent with the resulting schedule from planning phase. The problem also causes operating cost and risk cost. In term of solution approach, column generation and row generation are implemented in order to increase performance. Actual instances from the case study company will be experimented. Then, the resulting schedule from the model is compared with the actual schedule. From the experiments, the developed mathematics model enables to efficiently solve the bulk cargo vessel scheduling problem with port congestion condition under an acceptable time usage. Furthermore, two of three problem sets from the case study company can be solved by the model and the resulting schedules can provide more profit and avoid all port congestion problems. |
