Summary: | Construction operation requires several resources such as labor, material, equipment, space area, and etc. Pilling work is characterized by its high potential of accidents in construction process. Therefore several concepts are proposed to reduce and prevent accidents in work operation such as safety manual, safety training, safety culture, and safety system. However, these concepts have two main limitations. First, there is a limitation of identifying accidents in each work process. Previous research studies did not explain the type and the amount of accidents in each work process. Second, the previous checklist were not developed from the updated list of accidents that reflect to accidents in detail process. Therefore, this research aims to (1) identify the potential accidents that may occur in the work operation process, (2) propose a guideline to reduce accidents, (3) evaluate risk of accidents, and (4) improve safety checklist. This research selected case study of piling work because it has high potential risk of accident. This research methodology started with Job safety analysis (JSA) which was selected as a tool to identify accidents in each process and the result of this technique also presented safety measure. List of accidents from job safety analysis has been evaluated level of risk. The high risk level of accidents was selected a criterion for selecting safety measures that are required to improve the safety checklist. Finally, the result shows that the list of accidents in each process could be benefit for reminding the accidents in each process of piling work. Improving safety checklist is also useful for reducing accidents in construction site. |
