الملخص: | igates the background information on the technological concept and beliefs of "Development" of the Thai State which are determining factors of the intention, direction, and strategies, and tactics in the development of the country of Thailand with aim to find out and verify in respect of: 1. How the significance of the so called "Development" was built by the Thai State and how was it evolved subsequently; 2. With which thinking philosophical principles has the Thai State made "Significance" in reference to such a meaning of "Development"? 3. How Thai State development discourse play its role in the Thai society. The result of the study found that the meaning of the so called "Development" was not given a clear definition, but the Thai State tried to make the significance of development to directly refer to modernization like in the western society through economical, industrial, and city development by linking it with the term of "Progress", "Growth", "Acquiring standard of living" equivalent to the West for instances based on key three (3) technological principles of concept and belief consisted of the following: 1. The principle that man being a master above nature and thus nature, therefore, is only raw material for production or just an activity to satisfy man s endless demands or needs; 2. The principle of confidence on the implementation of technology knowledge and know-how to defeat both nature and fellow men so than man and his society can keep on developing or evolving to perfection/Utopia in the future; 3. Principle of the survival of the strongest and the most perfect man. Based on forgoing thinking philosophical principles the term "development" following the thought of Thai State has been socially implemented on the one hand in the as a discourse using governmental power and mechanism as well as other social institutions aimed to acquire a monopoly or control the determination or defining the meaning of "Development", and on the other hand exercising domination, exclusion, or subjugation on the knowledge dealing with "Development" in other forms especially on the knowledge accumulated through experience which is based on the traditional beliefs, way of life, overview, and intellects of a variety of Thai State localities. |
