This qualitative research aims at studying the program schedule management of two selected university radio stations ; Kasetsart University Radio Station and Thammasart University Radio Station , as well as the factors governing the program schedule management. Documents, tape recorder analysis and in-depth interviews were used as part of this qualitative research. The findings of this research revealed that Kasetsart University Radio Station has managed the program schedule to fit in to the key objectives of the station while trying to make a fair profit. The most important objectives concerned the roles of the agricultural and public services. These coordinate with state and private agencies in order to increase profit. Kasetsart University Radio Station cannot always control format and content of programs as they would wish. The major factors which govern the program schedule management of Kasetsart University Radio Station are the objectives of the station, which are internal factors, and external factors, which include its sponsors. Thammasart University Radio Station has managed the program schedule to fit in with the needs of the radio laboratory for students practice, which is one of the key objectives of the station. However, since the number of practice subjects and hours are limited, this decreases the opportunity for students to practice, and therefore increases the role of the public service who subsequently add an increased variety of programs. Since the radio station only has a limited budget, internal factors, including the objectives of the station, are therefore key when deciding upon program scheduling for Thammasart University Radio Station.
