الملخص:The objectives of this study aimed to 1) synthesize and summarize the instructional leadership components from educational research on instructional leardership, 2) study the level of instructional leadership of primary school administrators and 3) analyze the needs in instructional leadership development for primary school administrators. Synthesis and summary of the instructional leadership components were analyzed by frequency, percentage, and content analysis. Questionnaires were used to collect the quantitative data in order to study the level of instructional leadership of primary school administrators. The data were given by 2 groups of sample population, which comprising 181 administrators and 362 teachers, and were analyzed by mean and standard deviation. Needs in instructional leadership development for primary school administrators were analyzed by comparing mean. The research results were as follows. 1. The instructional leadership components consisted of 3 main components and 13 subcomponents: 1) defining the school mission with 2 subcomponents; 2) managing the instructional programs with 4 subcomponents; and 3) promoting a positive school learning climate with 7 subcomponents. 2. In general, the level of instructional leadership of primary school administrators was at the highest level. 3. When prioritizing the needs in instructional leadership development for primary school administrators it was found that the first one was managing the instructional programs. The second was promoting a positive school learning climate and the third one was defining the school mission.
