| 總結: | Located in the northwest of Shandong Province, Dezhou is one of the under-developed regions in China. Dezhou is rich in labour and land resources, with the wages of workers and costs of land significantly lower than many other richer areas in the Province. Dezhou also enjoys a very convenient transportation network. However, lack of capital, technology and talents have hindered the development of local economy. Applying the concepts of Lewis' economic developemt and Rybczynski's factor endowments, this thesis begins with an analysis of conditions affecting the development of Dezhou's economy. The successful expereince of seclecting and developing industries in the newly industrialized countries in East Asia are discussed. The thesis then moves to explain the possibility, necessity, approaches and implications of developing labour-intensive industries for Dezhou City. |
