總結:The Industry Since 1905, the Filipinos need for flame for lighting their candles, lamps, and cooking stoves, for burning thrash, and for lighting cigars and cigarettes, have been satisfied by the lights industry through the safety matches. In the 1960s, the lighters came into circulation as the closest substitute. The Environment For five years starting in 1991, the Philippine economy has been on an upward trend. From a Gross Domestic Product growth of 0.1% in 1991, it reached the 4.9% mark in 1995. The forecast for 1996 is 5.5% by the Asian Development Bank, but as of the third quarter of 1996, it is already 5.3%. The successful hosting of the APEC leaders meeting in Manila and Subic, translated into committed foreign investment as manifested by the memorandum of agreements signed the APEC week, is another factor that will contribute to an improved economy in the future.
