Tolaki chicken is a native local chicken from Konawe, Konawe South, South-East of Sulawesi. This study aims to identify and study the nature of the phenotypes and genetic Tolaki chicken in the growth . Of the five groups of birds mating five men and fiveteen farms each group one with tree tail male parent produced 144 chicks Tolaki consists of (78 males and 66 females) that was given feed by adlibitum. Observations included: Fertility and hatchability of Tolakii chicken egg, chicken Tolaki phenotype characteristics, body weight of chicken Tolaki age 0-12 weeks. Data were analyzed using nested (hierarchical structure) design analysis of variance to obtain components of variance. Components of variance was used to estimate the values of genetics (heredity) growth of chicken Tolaki properties. The results showed that fertility (61,60%) and hatchability (66,14%) of Tolaki chicken generally lower than other chichen. Research results can be concluded that phenotypic characteristic of Tolaki chicken such as faether colour, shank colour, and cock�s chomb shape diverse. The growth of male chicken faster than a rooster chicken one. The inheritance of growth based on the nature of the components of male variance is high at the (ĥ2s) age of 1-5 weeks that is about 0.3 � 0.54.
