الملخص: | Code River of Yogyakarta City originates from the south part of Mt. Merapi in which its flow behavior might be affected by the presence of accumulated sediment at the upstream of the river (namely Boyong River), as the result of Mt. Merapi activity. The most recent flood before the 2010 eruption took place on March 2005, where several river bank protections collapsed, causing inundation in some river flood plain in the city area. After 2010 Mt. Merapi eruption, about 10 million m3 of pyroclastic material had been deposited at the upstream of Boyong River, in which by small trigger rainfall may cause lahar flow disaster downstream. This paper presents the results of the development of Early Warning System (EWS) to mitigate impact of lahar flow disaster that might occur along the Code River as revealed by most adaptive, least cost, and collaborative-based technology. |
