Annual Malaria Incidence (AMI) at the district Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) remains high. Posyandu cadre are very potent to deliver health information to the society. Method for forwarding health programme often used by provider to Posyandu cadre are lectures, discussion and simulation, or the combination of the two methods. The problems is whether health promotion using the audio visual aids (video) will produce better impact on the knowledge and skill of Posyandu cadre in submitting health information of malaria to the society Refering to that matter this research was carried out to know the impact of health promotion to knowledge, and skill of Posyandu cadre in their capacity of submitting health information regarding malaria to the society.
This research was a quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design With Pre-test and Post-test, using tree groups of Posyandu cadre involving video and folder use and one group as the control. The independent variables were health promotion by using video and folder. Dependent variables were knowledge and skill of Posyandu cadre in submitting health information of malaria to society. The sample of study was drawn by a purposive sampling technique. The data were analysed quantitatively using one-way Anova.
The data showed that health promotion improved significantly the knowledge and skill of Posyandu cadre in submitting health information to society of malaria.
