Uji sensitivitas secara in vivo dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi resistensi plasmodium falciparum terhadap klorokuin (studi dl Kintap kabupaten tanah laut provinsi kalimantan selatan)

ABSTRACT Tanah Laut regency of South Kalimantan Province is a malaria endemic area. The prevalence of malaria was 13,15 per thousands in the year of 1999. The proportion of P.falciparum toward P.vivax was 90,16%. The first resistant case observed was in 1983 and resistance case of P.falciparum to ch...

The prevalence of malaria was 13,15 per thousands in the year of 1999. The proportion of P.falciparum toward P.vivax was 90,16%. The first resistant case observed was in 1983 and resistance case of P.falciparum to chloroquine in the level of RII was found in 1990. The implementation activity of malaria resistance observation toward antimalaria drug was not yet effective. In order to examine the resistance case of P.falciparum to chloroquine, extended resistance in vivo test was used. In addition, in order to investigate the risk factor, observational case control design was used. The dependent variable was resistance incidence. The independent variable was age, nutrition status, spleen size, dosage of chloroquine drug, repeated episode, discipline in consuming chloroquine drug in small shop, and migration. This study showed that 40,8% P. falciparum was resistant to chloroquine consisted of RI early recrudescence (5,3%), RI delayed recrudescence (18,4%), RII (11,8%) and R III (5,3%).
