總結:Apart from two mainstream groups namely Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah, Indonesian Muslims are attached to a large number of group and each group carries its own characters, including for Hizb ut Tahrir; an Islamic political movement characterized with its primary objective to rebuild a global caliphate system. This thesis, using participatory qualitative research method, aims to offer a certain level of understanding the multi-‐faces of Indonesian Muslims. This study tries to explain the political visions and missions of Hizb ut Tahrir in a comprehensive way, including the group's relations with Indonesian government which is accused by Hizb ut Tahrir as secular government, and also its relations with other Islamic groups in Indonesia. Unlike other Islamic groups in Indonesia, Hizb ut Tahrir is considerably unique. Despite the group's non-‐violent method to reach its goals, Hizb ut Tahrir is self-‐proclaimed revolutionary movement with its main goal to take over the power then rebuild a globally political caliphate system. Hizb ut Tahrir is unlikely to involve or participate in any activities initiated by ruling regime or social activities like helping the poor and humanitarian activities to help victims in time of disaster. Hizb ut Tahrir considers that it is government's obligations to provide social and humanitarian relief once the caliphate system is established. Hizb ut Tahrir openly rejects all systems –in social, cultural, politics, economy or law— which sources from other than original Islamic teachings. Therefore, the group rejects the ideas or implementations of democracy, human rights, gender equality, capitalism, and socialism. Hizb ut Tahrir also denies system claimed as \"Islamic state\", either in absolute monarch form like Saudi Arabia or republic form like Islamic Republic of Iran and Islamic Republic of Pakistan, because the system is considered not in line with the ideal concept of caliphate. In this context, Hizb ut Tahrir is not only conceptually in opposition to NU and Muhammadiyah, but also to other political Islamic group like Muslim Brotherhood (Prosperous Justice Party) or groups affiliated to neo-‐conservative Wahhabism-‐Salafi sects.
