Description
Summary:As a natural tourist attraction Baturraden is one of the main destinations for tourists in the Banyumas Regency. Visits by tourists are increasing yearly and are centered in certain areas which have the potential to trigger damage. The purpose of this research is to predict the load capacity of the area of tourist attractions in Baturraden. A survey of tourist respondents was used in a purposive sampling method to find the main kind of the tourist activity e.g. picnics etc. The type of data obtained from these tourists was: tourist profile, tourism activity and the opinion of the tourists after their visits. The majority of the area used for tourism is only measured in the locations where picnic activity is still found. The prediction of the load capacity used the Cifuentes formula by calculating the physical, real, and effective capacities. The result of this study shows that a physical capacity of the area of 24.198 people a day does not exceed the limit of the area capacity compared to the average of daily visits which is 1.231 people a day. The prediction of real capacity with a correction factor of diverse kinds (Cf1=85%), the slope (Cf2=2,34%) and the land erodibility (Cf3=79,69%) obtained this real capacity value of 720 people a day. The effective capacity considered the management capacity, which is represented by the judgement of satisfaction by the performance of managers (CSI=0,68), obtained the value of an effective capacity of 490 people a day. The values of the real and effective capacity have exceeded the limit of the area capacity compared to that of daily tourist visits which is 1.231 people a day, especially at weekends and on national holidays.
