Description
Summary:In the production process, waste can occur as a result of processes that do not add value. This kind of waste led to inefficient use of resources, increasing production costs and decreasing productivity. In order to enhance corporate competitiveness, PT Regan Indonesia seeking to reduce the waste that existed throughout the production process. This study aims to identify waste in the production process, to assess the level of waste, determine the level of waste that requires action, and develop improvement efforts to reduce the waste. Identification and analysis of waste is done with the approach of value stream mapping, and its assessment is done by means of risk rating according to AS/NZS 4360: 2004. The results show the presence of waste in the form of defective products, and unnecessary supplies that go into the extreme level of risk that requires immediate corrective action. Improvement efforts to reduce both waste is done by reducing the delay allowance cardboard packaging operator, rearrange the layout of the production area, running machines at the proper speed and capacity, and add one operator in filling and packaging station. Process Cycle Efficiency value of the production process on the initial state map is 32.40%, while the improvement using future state map give a values of 35.68%.
