Mlati is one of sub-districts located in Sleman Regency. It becomes an expansion area of housing developer in Yogyakarta. According to Dinas Pengendalian Pertanahan Daerah Sleman, housing development in Mlati has reached 68 sites from 2004 until 2011. Technology makes people easier in getting information of housing location. They can get information from many websites using internet. But, the information still spread in many websites. Smartphones grow to accommodate people in getting information easier, anywhere and anytime. Android operating system-based smartphone has been released in 2008. Android operating system-based smartphone can be used to exchange information as a tool to deliver housing information from housing developers to clients and to support decision when clients want to buy a house. This project aims to build housing information system based Android showing housing location and attribute information. Localhost database developed using XAMPP and SQLyog Community then it uploaded to web server to be online database. The data of this project were collected from Dinas Pengendalian Pertanahan Daerah Sleman in 2014, as well as other data which were retrieved from field surveys. Eclipse was used to develop this information system. Eclipse requires the use of XML markup language, JAVASCRIPT and JSON data exchange format. Eclipse was used to build the client side. Web server was used in server side to store database. Web server requires the use of web service by PHP files to connect the server to clients. The result of this project is Android application which runs normally in Android version 2.3 and above. The distribution locations of housing areas are presented on top of Google Map as a basemap. Placemarks are used to display the location of housings. This application allows user to search housings based on 4 categories: status, housing name, housing developer and type. Get direction function allows user to display road information from user current position to housing location. Photo menu allows user to identify housing appearance. The analysis result from questionnaire show that the application is easy to use and to understand, and to aid housing developers to promote housing unit in Mlati sub-district.
