Description
Summary:Cholesterol is a component of the essential nutrients for physiological processes in animal reproductive system . This study aims to determine the levels of cholesterol in the blood and its relation on services per conception (S/C) in PO and Simpo cattles. The experiment was conducted in Sleman and Kulon Progo to collecting the data from Farmer and cattles. The material used is 9 head of PO cattles and 7 head of Simpo cattles then draw blood through the jugular vein or coccygeal vein to test cholesterol levels. Blood samples were tested using the cholesterol CHOD PAP method, Photometric Enzymatic the engine Microlab 300 photometer at a wavelength of 546 nm mode End Point at Unit 1 LPPT UGM. Parameters observed blood cholesterol levels and S/C PO and Simpo cattles and the relationship between blood cholesterol levels of the S/C PO and Simpo cattles. Analysis of data using statistical methods independent sample t-test. The results showed that blood cholesterol levels in PO cattles are 113.66 ± 17,456 mg / dL and Simpi cattles 107.04 ± 39 882 mg / dL. S / C values of PO cattles are 2.00 ± 1.12 and Simpo cattles are 1.71 ± 1.11. The statistical test showed that the results of the average blood cholesterol levels and S / C between PO and Simpo not show significant differences ( P > 0.05 ). The average value of blood cholesterol and the S / C cattles in this study were within the normal range. The conclusion of this study that the cholesterol levels in the blood has no effect on the S / C in beef cattle that are in Sleman and Kulon Progo. Keywords: PO cattle, SimPO cattle, cholesterol, service per conception.
