| Summary: | Tidal flood and shoreline change occurred in Sayung District, Demak Regency are serious threats for coastal area because they have caused damages on settlement, public facilities and landuse. The objectives of this research are: 1. to identify the spread of tidal flood, 2. to identify the shoreline change, 3. to identify the impacts caused by tidal flood and shoreline change, 4. to choose the suitable location for settlement development as an adaptation effort. Analysis methods used on this research are: DEM (Digital Elevetion Model) analysis; modeling analysis of area flooded by tidal flood using the scenarios of: minimum, medium, and maximum; landuse interpretation, analysis of settlement and public facilities impacted by tidal flood and shoreline change, and assessment of area suitable for settlement development using scoring analysis. Based on the modeling result, area flooded using minimum scenario is 0,28 km2, area flooded using medium scenario is 2 km2, and area flooded using maximum scenario is 14,95 km2. The shoreline change average on coastal area of Sriwulan is 2,46 km, coastal area of Bedono is 1,5 km, coastal area of Timbulsloko is 0,82 km, and coastal area of Surodadi is 0,26 km. Tidal flood and shoreline change have caused damages on settlements, mangroves, ponds, road, drainage, and public facilities in Sayung District. Based on the result of settlement location assessment, the locations prioritized for settlement development are Jetaksari Village, Dombo Village, Bulusari Village, Prampelan Village, Karangasem Village, Kalisari Village, Sayung Village, Tambakroto Village, Pilangsari Village, and Loireng Village. |
