It argues that political and economic changes in the international system contributed of this improvement. More specifically, it insists that the two important factors for the improvement in Thai-Indian relations are (1) the waning of the Cold War and (2) the powerful spread of liberal capitalism at the global level. วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษาถึงเงื่อนไขที่ส่งผลเกื้อกูลต่อการเพิ่มพูนความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศไทยกับอินเดียในสมัยรัฐบาลพลเอกชาติชาย ชุณหะวัณ (พ.ศ. 2531-2534) ทั้งนี้ได้เน้นศึกษาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพแวดล้อมทั้งการเมืองและเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศ การเปลี่ยนแปลงนโยบายของประเทศไทยและการดำเนินความสัมพันธ์กับอินเดียในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าว ซึ่งได้ตอบคำถามการวิจัยด้วย สมมุติฐานในการวิจัยว่า เงื่อนไขสองประการ คือ การคลี่คลายของสงครามเย็น และการแผ่ขยายทุนนิยมเสรีนิยมทำให้ประเทศไทยและอินเดียปรับเปลี่ยนแนวทางการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจไปในแนวทางทุนนิยมมากขึ้น เป็นเงื่อนไขที่เกื้อกูลต่อการเพิ่มพูนความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างทั้งสองประเทศ จากการศึกษาพบว่าเงื่อนไขทั้งสองประการให้ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศไทยกับอินเดียในช่วงเวลาดังกล่าวเพิ่มพูนขึ้นมาก เงื่อนไขดังกล่าวเป็นโอกาสและเป็นแรงผลักดันให้ประเทศไทยมีความต้องการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจให้เชื่อมโยงสู่ระหว่างเศรษฐกิจระหว่างประเทศมากขึ้นและได้เสริมมิติเศรษฐกิจในการดำเนินความสัมพันธ์กับต่างประเทศ อีกทั้งส่งผลให้อินเดียปรับนโยบายเศรษฐกิจให้มีลักษณะเสรีมากขึ้นให้สอดคล้องกับการขยายตัวของทุนนิยมโลก 143 pages ชาติชาย ชุณหะวัณ, 2465-2541 อินเดีย -- ความสัมพันธ์กับต่างประเทศ -- ไทย ไทย -- ความสัมพันธ์กับต่างประเทศ -- อินเดีย India -- Foreign relations -- Thailand Thailand -- Foreign relations -- India ปณิธาน วัฒนายากร สุรัตน์ โหราชัยกุล https://digiverse.chula.ac.th/digital/file_upload/biblio/cover/33249.jpg |
